Life Changes!

Well, I don't have my computer back yet, so I am at the library.  When checking my blog, to my surprise, I have 10 followers.  I want to thank each of you for taking the time to follow my blog.  I haven't posted since May, because I felt like I was talking to myself, and since I can do that without a computer, I guess I just gave up.  Now that I know someone's listening, I am encouraged to keep blogging, so thanks so much.  If you have a blog, please let me know so I can follow you back.

I have settled back at home in Ohio.  Kentucky was fun and I will miss my brother, his girlfriend and my nieces, but so excited to be back where I belong.  I missed my little town in Ohio for the past year, and now I know that this is my home.

I have decided to once again get back on the healthy eating and exercise kick.  I listened to a quilting podcast http://katiesquiltingcorner.com/, and she has inspired me to get healthy.  She is using the website www.MyFitnessPal.com, if you use this too, feel free to friend me RunningStitches65, would love to encourage anyone that is interested.

On to crafting news - I haven't done any crafting since I moved back to Ohio a few weeks ago.  I still have to finish up the Patriotic Snowman.  The Lizzy Kate Summer Mystery SAL should be shipping soon, so I need to get it done, as I am so excited to get started stitching on that, it will be my first SAL.  I have never done a Mystery cross stitch, so this should be fun and interesting.  Is anyone else participating in the SAL?  I have a baby shower to go to Sunday, and really wanted to make a quilt, but just haven't had the time, so I am thinking about a No Sew Blanket and then getting a quilt done when the baby is born sometime in October.

Christmas in July - Going to try and get my list together of presents I want to make for Christmas in July, and hope to start on them in August.

Well, I will close for now, please cross your fingers and keep me in your prayers that I can find a job soon.  The money for all my projects has to come from somewhere.  Lol!

Thanks for visiting my blog come back soon and have a great day!

Finished Project

Finished my second project of the year.  Although neither are framed, I still consider this a victory.  Plan on Finishing them off the end of June.  Working a new project, but can't say to much about it as I don't want the person it is for to see it.  I am going to work on something small along with the secret project, but need to order something.  So, how many projects does everyone have going on at any one time?  How do you decide which project to work on.  Well, I hope everyone is having a great Mothers Day!  You all certaintly deserve it.

Learning To Stitch On Linen!

Well, I have been wanting to learn how to stitch on linen, and Tuesday night, I finally got the chance.  A few weeks ago, I was told about a knitting and needlepoint store nearby called The Stitch Niche, Inc, and to say I was excited was an understatement.  I have been cross-stitching off and on for about 20 years, and have never stitched on linen.  Not sure why, maybe I thought I wouldn't be able to learn.  Anyway, The Stitch Niche was having a beginning stitch on linen class, and I signed up immediately and to my surprise, it is so easy and I love it.  The picture above is what we stitched on in class and was stitched and finished by the instructor.  You can find the free pattern at http://www.prairieschooler.com/free.htm.  I will post a picture of my finished project sometime this weekend.  I am so excited about all the possibilites of great looking projects now that I have learned how to Stitch On Linen!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Progress on my Bent Creek Autumn Zipper

Didn't get much stitching done during the week, but was able to spend the day doing laundry, reading and stitching.  I hope to have this finished by next weekend.  Still need to decide how I am going to finish this, probably a frame.  Shepherd's Bush Lamb needs finished too, think I will be making this into a pillow.  Need to pick up some fabric and then find a tutorial to see how to sew it up.  Going to my first knitting class tomorrow.  I hope I can get that craft down, listening to all the knitting and spinning podcasts makes me want to learn so bad.  I will post how the class goes.  In the mean time, here is a photo of the progress I have made on my latest stitching project.

First project in 2012

This is my first cross-stitch I have completed in many years.  It is from the Shepherd's Bush  Monthly Musings collection, you can find it here http://www.shepherdsbush.net/products/books/monthlymusings/lamb.html.  I started it on March 24th and finished it March 30th.  It was so much fun to work on and actually accomplish something.  I have been struggling with getting started on a craft, I have so many ideas in my head that it is sometimes hard to focus on one thing.  I have to get some fabric to finish this as a pillow.  Will post pictures of the completed project next weekend.  Giving myself a deadline will hopefully help me complete the project.  In the mean time, I am on to my next project.  Bent Creek Autumn Zipper Pattern from September 10, 2000.
